How to get involved

There are so many ways you can help. Even the smallest act can make a huge difference. The reality is that the cost of an average dinner for two in a restaurant can cover water and medical supplies, or two sleeping bags, or food for a family.

Please help any way you can. Here are a few ideas.

Are you a food and drinks business?

If you're a business in the F&B sector, we need your help to support children and families in Ukraine by celebrating its food and culture.

#1 - Serve Real Kyivs (Kievs)

And not just Kyivs! Every restaurant, pub, butcher, cafe, deli, and supermarket can offer an authentic Ukrainian dish and donate the proceeds to help children and families. What about #CoffeesForKyiv or #CocktailsForKyiv? The limit is only your imagination.

Check out Cook For Ukraine to be inspired by authentic recipes from Ukrainian chef Olia Hercules and friends, and visit their JustGiving page.

Follow #Kievs4Kyiv for more inspiration. Be sure to tag and show how your team is stepping up.

#2 - Offer Invisible Kievs

We understand that Ukrainian food may not be everyone's thing. But every F&B outlet could also off an Invisible Kiev on the menu or at checkout. Customers can contribute in a simple and innovative way.

For individuals, schools and families

Every household can explore and enjoy authentic Ukrainian cuisine at home by supporting Ukrainian chefs and learning about the country's rich culinary heritage.

Here are some fundraising ideas but there's no bad idea and no idea too small! Spread the word and just do it!

#1 - Encourage your favourite local restaurant to showcase a Ukrainian dish and donate proceeds.
#2 - Contact your local school / community centre / village hall to see how you could support them hosting a fundraiser dinner. Everyone loves a supper club and bake sale! How about putting Chicken Kiyvs on for school lunch and ask for donations?
#3 - Host a meal at home or offer to cook for family, friends and neighbours. Explore Ukrainian cuisine together and support Ukrainian chefs and artisans by buying their books. Let's celebrate and learn about the rich culinary history and culture! Follow them on social media.
#4 - Encourage your local Butcher or Deli to donate a portion of sales. Did you know that if only 500 butchers raised £500 (the least any of our butchers have raised so far) we could raise £250,000 in one week? Or sell INVISIBLE KIEVS!
#5 - Approach local supermarkets to encourage them to donate a portion of sales of their Ukrainian Foods to humanitarian endeavours in the region. Oh, and ask them when they are going to change the spelling!
